Just Quilt It! Quilting Beyond the Design

Begin with a basic design from a stencil, a ruler or template, an applique, a fabric print, a cookie cutter or a shape you draw yourself. Then, learn to transform that design from basic to spectacular by extending, expanding, and adding secondary designs, repeats, fills and special effects. Learn marking techniques and tools for applying designs to quilt tops.

Instructor: Mary Yoder, Handi Quilter National Educator
Instructor Bio: Mary started sewing at the age of 12, when her mother allowed her to sew on her basic domestic sewing machine. Mary quickly figured out how to put things together and loved creating. Over 40 years ago, Mary made her first quilt from leftover scraps from garment sewing and backed it with a purchased blanket. She has just continued and improved from that 1st quilt. Mary has taught different aspects of sewing for over 20 years. She has enjoyed focusing her teaching skills toward the art of quilting, and is excited to have joined Handi Quilter as an Educator.
